THANK YOU FOR THE 2026 FAIRFIELD CAN JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION!

I want to THANK EVERYONE who took the time to plan, execute and participate in the 2026 Juneteenth Celebrations across Solano County this past weekend – it’s a strong statement of mutual respect, community unity and the love of freedom in our Country. My personal thanks to the Fairfield Clergy Action Network (Fairfield CAN), the City of Fairfield, Mr. Cliff Gordon (Gordon’s Music), Mr. Jeff Trager (Jeff Trager Presents), and all of the vendors, community partners, families, neighbors – all of you – who helped to make the Fairfield 2026 Juneteenth Celebration a resounding success. Thank you to our presenters: Juanita Martin (Hope Christian Church); BayNorth Church of Christ Choir; Michel Wyly (City of Fairfield Poet Laureate); Joan Miller (City Church); Pastor David Cobb & The Love Community Choir; and Mr. Orlando Harris (We Can’t Sit This One Out – Inspiration Indeed!). Thank you for the spark Pastor Anthony Gilmore (Bethel Community Church). Thank you for the Benediction Pastor Dr. Claybon Lea, Jr. (Mount Calvary Baptist Church – Carpe Diem!).

Let’s collectively thank Presidential Medal of Freedom Awardee MS. OPAL LEE (the Grandmother of Juneteenth) – who worked courageously and tirelessly to make Juneteenth a National Holiday in these United States of America – she is 99 years old – and still working!

On behalf of the City of Fairfield, I would like to invite you to join us for our Fairfield Clergy Action Network (Fairfield CAN) Monthly Meetings. Meeting information is as follows:

When: Every 4th Tuesday of the Month

Time: 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Where: Fairfield Community Center, Vista Conference Room

CAN’s Mission: Building a stronger community through love, faith - and ACTION.

CAN’s Vision: Showing God’s love by doing good work that matters in the community.

Working together through Fairfield CAN, we will:

Encourage One Another - Ministry can often be a challenging and solitary journey. Through this network, we aim to support and uplift each other, sharing wisdom and experiences;
Stay Informed: Hear about the latest happenings and developments in our City, enabling us to better serve our congregations and communities;
Engage with City Officials: Meet with City staff to discuss and address issues of importance in your congregations and community, to ensure that our voices are heard in matters affecting our communities; and
Take Action: organizing and planning events and programming that bring together our congregations and strengthen our collective impact for the Greater Good!

We look forward to getting to know you and working together to make a positive impact in our community.
